Project Developer & Information Technology Director
Bringing over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Chris serves as GDR's Information Technology Manager and a Project Developer/Estimator. He works in a multitude of capacities such as establishing budgets, creating sketches that help clients visualize their dreams, securing permits and licenses projects, and attending to the technology, computer and programming needs of the company.
What Chris enjoys about working at GDR and has been keeping him here and happy for the past 12 years and counting, is the diversity of tasks, the team approach to serving clients, use of technology to streamline and capture processes and procedures, a positive office environment, and having a job that allows him to truly live a well-balanced life.
Chris's idea of "going green" means already living life in a way that reflects his obedience to God's call of stewardship. He does a variety of things at home to demonstrate his appreciation and gratitude for what has been given to him, such as growing his own vegetables for immediate consumption, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables, using new light bulb technology, hanging clothes outside to dry whenever possible, composting and recycling. At work, Chris fully supports the initiatives that GDR is taking to help customers be more responsible in this area. "While it is not always easy to "be green" in the building industry, we're seeking out ways to educate ourselves, as well as our clients, as to what impact their project will have on their personal environment as well as the global environment," comments Chris.
Chris is a past member of the Souderton Board of Trade where he served as the Board Treasurer and also as Board President. As a member of the Board, he helped revive the Soap Box Derby in Souderton. Chris continues to participate in the Souderton-Telford Main Street's Annual Holiday Parade as the Parade Day Starter. As a graduate of Souderton High School, Chris is a Charter member of the Souderton Alumni Men's Chorus.
Chris is actively involved with his congregation serving in various capacities at Franconia Mennonite Church. He is a life-long volunteer with Mennonite Disaster Service traveling the country helping victims of disaster rebuild their lives, most recently offering his help, at least one week a year, in the rebuilding efforts in Louisiana and Mississippi since Hurricane Katrina. On the home front, Chris enjoys doing yard work as well as serving his elderly neighbors in various ways to help them stay in their homes as long as possible. When Chris isn't out serving others, he spends time with his wife and two daughters, enjoys walking, music, and an occasional round of golf.
