Founded in 1990 by Dennis and Glenda Gehman the goal from the beginning was to provide personal design and remodeling services to Southeastern Pennsylvania Home Owners. What started as a small business out of the Gehman's home has now grown into a business that employs dozens of uniquely dedicated professionals, now working our of our office and showroom in a mid-19th century renovated barn in Harleysville, PA. September, 2006 (Harleysville, Pa.) – Gehman Custom Remodeling recently took steps to make both their jobsites and office a safer working environment. A safety committee was formed that consists of three representatives from the office staff and two from the field staff. Damian Contino, safety committee chair said, “In the construction industry it’s important for our staff to keep good safety practices in mind while working. We also encourage our staff to give the committee suggestions or feedback so that we know if they feel something is unsafe.” read more...
The mission of the safety committee is to maintain safety and health for everyone on all Gehman Custom Remodeling worksites, through awareness and training. The committee has also adopted the tag line “We take your safety personally” to go along with the company’s tagline “We take your home personally”.
July 17, 2006 (Harleysville, Pa.) -- Continuing to set new standards for professionalism, 26 remodeling companies from the Northeast Region of the US were honored at the thirteenth annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence in June at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The awards were presented during the Southern Building Show.
Judged by editors and writers of Better Home & Gardens, Today’s Custom Home, Creative Homeowner and The American Institute of Building Design, the 95 Chrysalis Award winners were selected from over 520 entries sent in from across the country. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
This year Gehman Custom Remodeling of Harleysville won the award for Best Kitchen Remodel over $75,000. This is the second Chrysalis award Gehman has won, they won one in 2006 for the Best Room Addition over $100,000. Ken Kanline, Director of the Awards said, “This is the second year in which they have won an award, which demonstrates their ongoing commitment to excellence. The showroom will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Thursday evenings the showroom will stay open until 8:00pm. The staff at Gehman Custom Remodeling hopes these hours will accommodate all clients and other’s that are interested in remodeling their home.
If you haven’t experienced the Gehman Custom Remodeling showroom, there is a lot to see. The renovated barn features cathedral ceilings and the original 18th century barn beams. There are over a dozen cabinetry displays. You can experience marble, cork, bamboo, tile and American Cherry Flooring. There is a Media Center that features a 42-inch flat screen television and a fiber optic starry sky. Finally, there is a Master Bath spa to indulge in ultimate relaxation.

May 15, 2006 (Harleysville, PA) – Dennis & Glenda Gehman, owners of national award-winning Gehman Custom Remodeling, are pleased to announce the grand opening of their remodeling showroom located at their corporate offices in Harleysville, PA.
“This showroom has been anticipated for a few years and we are now extremely excited to see it come into being here in 2006”, says Dennis Gehman, CR, CLC CKBR. “Our designers and craftsmen have been working very diligently on the displays which include a complete working kitchen, several kitchen vignettes, a full media, home theatre room and a spa-like, master bath retreat.”
With the cooperation of their many vendors and suppliers, Gehman Custom Remodeling has included many state-of-the-art amenities to showcase some of the possibilities when it comes to remodeling your home.
Gehman Custom Remodeling is planning a number of events to celebrate this occasion. On Tuesday, May 30, an employees only reception will be held. Wednesday, May 31 a business mixer event for Chambers of Commerce members followed by an event for networking groups and vendors on Thursday evening, June 1. Friday, June 2 will be a private evening reception for clients. The grand opening events will culminate on Saturday, June 3 with the showroom being open to the community, introducing Gehman Custom Remodeling as the premier remodeling company of choice.
