Who says a door has to look like a traditional door? This dual-function bookcase is also a hidden door allowing the homeowner access to the addition while showcasing their books and belongings.The sitting area offers another cozy place for gathering. The far left side offers a fireplace as well as plenty of storage in full-height cabinetry. 
The desk area also features a pull-out table for additional writing space.Facing the bar area, French doors on both sides lead to the family room and the front foyer. The bamboo flooring extends into this area as well, providing continuity from the family room.This addition features a cathedral ceiling and double-hung windows with fixed transoms, creating an open, airy feeling to this cozy family room.This room was among an incredible whole house renovation where each space became part of an open layout design. This family room has custom bookcases as the focal point of this cozy yet contemporary space. The focal color is blue, surrounded by an array of primary colors and creative designs.A creative space for kids to do their homework with the help of built-in desks, full computer facilities and overhead rail lighting for the homeowner’s two children.This multi-tiered, hardscaped patio offers several distinct areas for entertaining, utilizing different textures and colors to add visual interest. The dark stone in the lower left leads into a beautiful stocked fish pond with waterfall.A creative space for kids to do their homework with the help of built-in desks, full computer facilities and overhead rail lighting for the homeowner’s two children.This home office utilizes an area of open space in an upstairs hall area with an abundance of natural light. The simple layout belies a hard-working space with glass-door cabinetry allowing a clear view of its contents for easy access.This family room was enlarged and remodeled and uses solid, vertical carbonized bamboo flooring, while rail-mounted task lighting highlights nooks and shelving areas.Curb appeal is key and a welcoming front entrance is invaluable. This Craftsman style entrance gets noticed with natural material such as pine roof beams, copper accents, column bases of river rock and light-colored patio pavers blend with the existing brick home.Enhancing curb-appeal was the main objective to this facade, and it is well-achieved with a new entranceway of stone and slate with matching stone facade on the home’s exterior and standing metal seam porch roof. This new, larger entranceway can accommodate many people at one time without feeling overcrowded.The walk-out bay area in the kitchen was the perfect place to build an inviting, built-in seating area.This new bar shows creative re-use of the original kitchen cabinets, providing storage and display. Cable and rail mounted task lighting add visual interest.This cozy media room touts a custom cabinet surround to the fireplace and television with that offers display for books, pictures and treasured objects.
The new shed was built to mimic the look of the house with red barn doors making a splash of color against the white trim and taupe siding.When land surrounding your home is at a premium, it’s of utmost importance to do as much as you can with the space available. This paver patio with perimeter walls and exterior lighting runs the length of the home and provides ample room for entertaining.Curb appeal is key and a welcoming front entrance is invaluable. The open, airy space was achieved with an open-beam cathedral ceiling and several large slider patio doors that bring in the outdoors.Homeowners love to entertain on their new pergola conveniently located off of the kitchen with a spiral stair leading to the luscious backyard hardscapes. A hot tub is placed cozily and discreetly below the upper level deck.Outdoor living is also important to the homeowners, as a side entry was created and a paver walkway leads to the backyard and patio area. The cultured stone resembles the stone on their family room fireplace and that of their kitchen stove hearth.This hard-working island houses the dishwasher, sink, storage, and shelving for cookbooks in addition to its food prep and seating areas. Hand-made tiles provide colorful accents to the backsplash.Our client asked us to design a bar for their basement.  We designed an elegant two tier bar for our client to enjoy for many more years to come.While most of us pine for a desk for a home office, this custom built home office has oak cabinets, file drawer space, drawers, roomy desktop area, and cabinets to store office supplies, inventory, bookkeeping materials, and important paperwork.The floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace becomes the focal point of the room.special_project29.jpg
