We knew Gehman from our pleasant experience adding a front porch to our home, so there was no question who we'd choose for our kitchen/dining room makeover. This was a major ,job involving demolition of a separating wall, rewiring the whole space, sheetrock and installation of cabinets, flooring, lighting and appliances. The whole project lasted a few months, preceded by several weekly meetings at their office to plan and design.

Elijah and Aaron spent as much time with us as we needed to convey, refine and realize our dream. Their project team arrived on time every day and worked diligently and professionally, cleaning up the site before leaving every day. The results speak for themselves. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. We feel like we're living in a new house.

We had a positive experience working with Gehman Design Remodeling for two concurrent projects in our home: a mud room remodel and installation of a basement wet bar. We appreciated Aaron & Tyler's expertise and design sense to work with the existing features in the mud room as well as create an incredible design for the basement wet bar from a blank space. The digital drawings and mock-ups were high quality and really helped us with visualizing the space and making design decisions.

We had the pleasure of working with Doug, Jerry, Luco, and Mike for our onsite construction team. They arrived on-time every day and took time to clean and organize the space when they wrapped up for the day. The team was quick to come to us with questions and suggestions to ensure they were creating a functional and nice looking space. We found some surprises during the demo process, so the design and construction team worked together to find an elegant solution that ultimately is even better than the original design. They were also understanding and accommodating with some last minute adjustments (we changed our mind about the location of a light fixture at least three times). The quality of the construction and finish work is impressive and far above the builder grade quality in the rest of our house. Also, the guys were just friendly and fun to chat with while having them in our home each day. The construction projects started and were completed on schedule, and they honored their promise to have the bulk of the work done before Christmas so we could show off the beautiful work to family and friends.

A couple things to note for those in the decision making process: This was our first experience working with a full service design & contracting group. Gehman was very upfront with the expected lead time for ordering the cabinet work (about three months) and that they do not subcontract any work (except for countertops). The design process took a bit longer than we anticipated and ultimately the time from the first call to Gehman to Day 1 of construction was six months. Also, we found it was more cost effective to hire specialized contractors independent of Gehman for the flooring and tile installation.

Overall, we would describe Gehman as offering a premium product, which understandably comes at a higher cost. The detailed design process, quality of the final product and the personable and knowledgeable staff makes us feel that we received the service and quality to be expected at that price point.

Gehman Design remodeling group was simply amazing! We first met Elijah Gehman at their office and shared with them what our vision was in the way of an art room. After that they met us at our home to see the actual space. From there the plans were made and we agreed on the plans. When the 2 man crew began they were prompt every single day except weekends. They were nice, friendly,  respectful and all about making your dream come true. They were awesome!
Our neighbors made a comment about their promptness every single day! When our vision came to light I was so overjoyed and so happy! It’s a beautiful and well designed art room! We knew we wanted a downstairs bedroom, but we weren't quite sure how to reach that goal.  The designer helped us to think through several possibilities, and we ended up choosing to use an existing room plus an addition to give us the space we wanted. We are very happy that we made that decision and the final product is everything we had hoped for.  With the walk-in shower and grab bars throughout the bathroom, and a bedroom that is more like a suite with plenty of windows, we can envision ourselves remaining in our home as we get older.  With any project there can be unexpected hurdles and decisions, and for each one that came along, they worked with us to come up with solutions.  The team of workers who did the construction and finish work were all pleasant and hard-working and we were comfortable having them coming and going in our house. I can't say enough good things about the job Gehman did on remodeling our entire first floor. It started with a long design process to get everything just right. The work involved removing walls, all new kitchen, all new flooring, all new painting, new custom stained stairs, white washed brick wall fireplace. new recessed and hanging lighting, new plumbing for kitchen, powder and laundry room and more. The team were all highly professional, friendly and informative and project foreman Michael Gourley was the best.  And Dennis Gehman always made us feel like we were more than just another project to him. We got exactly what we wanted with the quality we wanted and you can't do better than that.

August 25, 2024 - I want to add that we have used Gehman for a few smaller projects since our remodel. I have never regretted that choice. Each project they made sure they understood what was wanted and provided a clear design and price. And each time the work was top notch and in budget. In my earlier post I also forgot to mention Tyler as the lead designer. A pleasure to work with and a great listener. I will continue to use Gehman as our go to company for future projects.
