Planning & Foresight Make Your Remodel Go Smoothly

Here’s what to expect when you start your remodeling journey with Gehman Design Remodel. Each step ensures a smooth, collaborative, and rewarding experience that brings your vision to life. This process is why we’re known for creating easy, pleasant remodeling experiences for homeowners.

Our Process

Step 1: Fill Out the Contact Form

  • Start by completing our online contact form with details about your project.
  • We'll reach out to schedule an initial consultation.

Step 2: Discovery Consultation

  • Phone call to discuss your project goals and answer initial questions.
  • Opportunity to ensure our services align with your needs.
  • It allows us to get to know each other and assess if we're a good fit.

Step 3: On-Site Consultation & Opinion Of Probable Cost

  • We'll visit your home to view your space, take photos, and understand your vision.
  • Approximately one week later, we'll meet at our showroom to present the Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC) outlining the estimated budget range for your project.

Step 4: Project Development Agreement

  • Once you're ready to move forward, a retainer (8%–10% of the Opinion of Probable Cost budget range) is collected to officially start your project.
  • Our EPA Certified Renovators will ensure that lead paint is safely handled per the law on houses built before 1978

Step 5: Developing Your Project & Selecting Your Products

  • We'll have a follow-up visit to your home to take detailed measurements and discuss layout ideas.
  • We create floor plans, followed by a 3D model to help visualize the design options and final space.
  • You'll visit our showroom and work with a Gehman design consultant to select products, finishes, and upgrades that work for your remodel and budget.
  • Now, we can schedule a start date for your project.

Step 6: Pre-Production Planning

  • Every detail of your project is reviewed and organized to ensure a seamless construction phase. "No detail is too small."
  • Careful planning and material ordering minimize potential disruptions and ensure accuracy.
  • We obtain any necessary permits.
  • We also assign a Project Manager who will be hands-on and work on your project from start to finish each workday.

Step 7: Pre-Construction Meeting & Project Start

  • We introduce you to your Project Manager and review expectations, timelines, and any accommodations needed for your family or pets during construction.
  • Plans for minimizing disruptions during construction are established.
  • Your Project Manager will supply you with their cell phone number and email to make themselves readily available.
  • During construction, your Project Manager will communicate with you constantly and update you on the project's status.

Step 8: Post-Project Steps & Warranties

  • After completing your project, we review all warranty details, register the materials used on your project with the manufacturer, and keep a record of serial numbers.
  • We are committed to your satisfaction. Even after your project is completed, you are protected if any problem occurs under the scope of these warranties. We will fix the problem at no charge to you.
