Sunday, March 20, 2011 – We met for a continental breakfast at 7:00 AM and hit the road by 8:00 AM. We pulled into the MDS Unit Center in Pass Christian, MS at 3:30 PM. We got settled into our rooms and went out for pizza supper. We can see many empty lots with foundations where houses and/or buildings once stood. We took a short walk along the beach before getting back to the MDS unit for a scheduled 7:00 PM welcome and orientation meeting. There are 43 volunteers here this week. Areas represented are Saskatoon & Ontario, Canada, California, Indiana, Orgeon, Colorado and another group from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. We are staying in modular trailers on property that MDS bought as part of their long term commitment to rebuild Pass Christian after Katrina. MDS currently has 6 new houses they are building. Lights out at 10:00 PM.
